Within just an hours drive from Morzine there are plenty of towns worth a visit: Thonon, Annecy; Evian, Yvoire and Chamonix. Annecy is a beautiful medieval town steeped in history with cobbled side streets and canals meandering through the town.  There is a real cafe culture and plenty of shops to explore or boat rides along the lake. Yvoire, by Lake Geneva, has been voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. 

Evian, home to the famous natural spring water,  is a busier town with lots of cafes and shops to explore or you can visit the famous casino. 

Thonon has some lovely secluded beaches and fabulous waterside restaurants and offers boat rides to many destinations on the lake as well as offering some breathtaking views of the Alps. For steep, dramatic alpine scenery Chamonix and the Mont Blanc massif is worth a visit. A cable car will take you to the high Aiguille du Midi where you have a stunning view of Mont Blanc.  And don’t forget Geneva, a cosmopolitan lively metropolis with posh shops, fabulous restaurants and its stunning fountain.
